Two Killed in Traffic Accidents in Akron: 66-year-old woman and Lawrence Meiers

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene and at Akron City Hospital, respectively.
A fatal accident occurred around 7:15 p.m., at the intersection of Albrecht and Ripley Avenues. Lawrence Meiers, aged 60, was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Albrecht Avenue when he attempted to pass another vehicle that was making a turn onto Ripley Avenue. Unfortunately, during this maneuver, Meiers' motorcycle clipped the turning vehicle causing him to be thrown from his bike.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene and transported Meiers to Akron City Hospital for immediate medical attention. However, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at 7:45 p.m.
This tragic incidents serve as reminders of how important it is for all motorists to exercise caution while driving and adhere to traffic regulations diligently. As investigations into the accident continues, authorities hope to gain further insight into what may have led up to this unfortunate events.
