Minor non-life-threatening injuries
Two pedestrians were injured after being hit by a United States Postal Service (USPS) vehicle in Cary, North Carolina on Monday afternoon. According to the Cary Police, the postal employee responsible for the accident was driving with a revoked license.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Wrenn Drive in the 100 block. The USPS vehicle was making a turn onto Wrenn Drive from the Post Office parking lot when it collided with two adults who were walking nearby.
Fortunately, both individuals sustained only "very minor non-life-threatening injuries." However, as a precautionary measure, they were transported to a hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
The driver of the USPS vehicle has been identified as Fatima McDaniel, aged 38 and hailing from Clayton. She has since been cited by authorities for driving with a revoked license and failing to yield to pedestrians.
Local residents expressed concern over this incident and emphasized the importance of road safety measures around pedestrian areas. Authorities are reminding drivers to exercise caution while operating vehicles and adhere to traffic regulations at all times.
Investigations into this accident are ongoing as officials work towards determining any additional factors that may have contributed to the collision between pedestrians and the USPS vehicle.
