Two shot while driving on I-690 in Syracuse

The man remains in stable condition
According to the Syracuse Police Department, two people were shot while driving on Interstate 690 East early Sunday morning. The incident occurred when a vehicle pulled up next to them and opened fire into their car. Sgt. Thomas Blake, a spokesperson for the department, stated that around 5:05 a.m., police responded to a car crash on Interstate 690 at the Teall Avenue Exit.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found an unoccupied heavily damaged vehicle blocking the Teall Avenue off-ramp. A woman who was found nearby told police that she was a passenger in the car and it was shot at by people in another passing vehicle.
After being shot, the driver of the car crashed into a barrier causing severe damage to both him and his passenger. The man suffered wounds to his face and arm after being hit several times during this attack but is currently in stable condition according to Blake.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries as she received one gunshot wound on her hand during this incident.
Both victims were taken immediately to Upstate University Hospital where they are receiving medical attention for their injuries.
As per reports from 511 NY alert, ramp for Exit 14 Teall Avenue remained closed for over two hours due to this unfortunate event.
