Both Davis and Humphries were pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.

Two teenagers from Huntersville, North Carolina died in a car crash while being chased by the Mooresville Police Department for suspected drunk driving and speeding. The incident occurred on Thursday, June 8th at around 10:52 p.m. near Back Creek Church Road.

The deceased victims were identified as Austin Ryan Davis, 18, and Aiden Daniel Humphries, 16. According to the N.C State Highway Patrol, both teens were killed when their pick-up truck crashed during the pursuit.

Police reported that the chase reached speeds of up to 110 miles per hour and went from Mooresville city limits in Iredell County into Rowan County covering approximately six miles on rural narrow roads mostly along N.C. Highway 801.

Walter Bowers, an attorney and former Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer said "It's a tough decision to have to make" regarding whether or not officers should pursue suspects who are fleeing law enforcement officials. "It is often tough to 'Monday-morning quarterback' because you weren't there," he added.

Mooresville Police stated that they clocked the teens going at a speed of 75 mph in a zone with a limit of only 45 mph within city limits before attempting to pull them over but failed as they did not stop which led to the chase beginning around half past ten in the evening.

Authorities suspect that alcohol was involved besides speeding which made it even more dangerous for other drivers on roadways nearby where three main power lines had come down during this tragic accident causing Duke Energy crews having difficulty approaching until firefighters arrived later after cutting off power supply completely.

No officers are currently under administrative duty related to this incident according to Mooresville Police who must QCN file Freedom of Information requests if anyone wants access their pursuit policy information. The investigation continues by NC State Highway Patrol with assistance requested from ALE (Alcohol Law Enforcement).
