Two Trucks Crash on I-495

A crash between two trucks on I-495 in Montgomery County, Maryland caused a complete blockage of traffic on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. near Bradley Boulevard when the two tractor-trailers jack-knifed and blocked all outer loop lanes. Responders from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue were called to assist with the response.
According to a spokesperson, there was also a fuel spill at the site of the accident. DC News Now reported that one truck had already been removed while responders worked to remove the other truck which sustained damage in front.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported by police as of yet. However, as of 8:47 p.m., all lanes remained blocked causing major inconvenience for commuters during rush hour traffic. The Maryland State Highway Association has stepped in to help with detours until authorities can clear up the scene completely.
