Vehicles collided, Subaru spun around and broke rear axle
A two-vehicle accident took place at the intersection of Juliana Street and 8th Street in Parkersburg, West Virginia on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred around 9:50 a.m., causing disruptions to traffic flow in the area.
Initially, both 8th Street and Juliana Street were reduced to just two lanes as emergency crews responded to the scene. However, all lanes have since been reopened for normal travel.
Eyewitnesses reported that a Subaru was traveling westbound on 8th Street when a garbage truck approached from the north in the left lane of Juliana Street. As the truck attempted to make a left turn, it collided with the Subaru.
According to officials present at the scene, it seems that the driver of the Subaru may have tried to pass through a yellow light without noticing that the truck was making its turn. The impact caused significant damage, spinning around and breaking the rear axle of the Subaru.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the location after receiving dispatch calls. Camden Clark Ambulance Services attended to those involved in this unfortunate incident. While one individual required transportation by ambulance to a hospital, no further details regarding their condition or injuries are currently available.
