State Police Investigate Serious Two-Vehicle Accident in New Hartford
Route 44 was closed Thursday, following an accident that occurred around 11:30 a.m. near the intersection with Wickett Street.
One of the drivers involved in the crash was transported to an area hospital for medical attention, while State Police shut down Route 44 between Church Street and Reservoir Road for an unknown amount of time. Drivers are being asked to take alternate routes until further notice.
The accident is currently under investigation by members of both the accident reconstruction squad and truck squad, as authorities work to determine what led up to this devastating collision.
