Two-Vehicle Collision in Paso Robles Leaves 18-Year-Old Driver and Passenger Injured

18-year-old driver and passenger transported to hospital with major injuries
Paso Robles Police responded to a crash on Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 46 and Union Road. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. when officers arrived at the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered a two-vehicle collision involving a Kia and a semi-truck with its trailer. Emergency responders found both the 18-year-old male driver of the Kia and his passenger unconscious inside the vehicle.
To safely extract them from the wreckage, Paso Robles fire officials utilized specialized equipment before transporting them to the hospital for treatment of their major injuries. Fortunately, no injuries were reported for the driver of the truck and trailer involved in this accident.
Further investigation by police revealed that the Kia had been reported stolen from Fresno; however, it remains unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in causing this crash. At present, law enforcement has chosen not to disclose any names associated with this incident.
The collision resulted in traffic disruption along Highway 46 for approximately one hour while emergency personnel worked diligently to clear debris from the roadway.
