Multiple Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 75 in Murray

Multiple injuries, no fatalities
Cass County Sheriff's Office is investigating a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Saturday afternoon on Highway 75. The incident involved a Chevrolet Impala and an Infinity G25, resulting in injuries to one individual.
According to the report provided by Sheriff Robert Sorenson, the driver of the Chevrolet Impala has been identified as Larry Donnell Smith, aged 45, from Nebraska City. Smith was traveling behind Arturo Aguilera, aged 52 and also from Nebraska City, who was driving the Infinity G25.
Eyewitnesses at the scene informed investigators that a Dodge pickup truck in front of Aguilera abruptly applied its brakes while attempting to make a turn into a horseshoe driveway. As a result, Aguilera had to brake suddenly to avoid colliding with the pickup truck.
The Dodge pickup then maneuvered around the driveway and left the scene heading northbound on Highway 75. Authorities are currently seeking information regarding this vehicle.
During the collision between Smith's Chevrolet Impala and Aguilera's Infinity G25, Silvia Romero Chavez (59) was present as a passenger inside Aguilera's vehicle. Following assessment by emergency responders from Murray Fire and Rescue, Chavez was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical attention.
Fortunately, both vehicles involved were still operable after sustaining damage during impact and were driven away from the accident site.
The Cass County Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information about the Dodge pickup or witnessed this incident to come forward and assist with their ongoing investigation.
