Two women killed, suspect arrested
A tragic accident on Friday night has left two women dead and a 19-year-old man facing multiple felony charges. The incident occurred near Indian Prairie Road and Kalamazoo Road when the young man attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone.
According to authorities, the LaGrange County man was driving an SUV at around 10:30 p.m. when he collided with a car while trying to overtake it illegally. The impact of the crash caused the car to veer off the road and collide with a tree.
Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene where they discovered one victim, aged 29, deceased. Sadly, despite efforts made by medical professionals at the hospital, a second victim aged 27 succumbed to her injuries.
Law enforcement officials have apprehended the suspect following their investigation into the incident. He is expected to face several felony charges related to his involvement in causing this fatal collision. Authorities believe that both alcohol consumption and excessive speed played significant roles in this devastating wreck.
At present, neither the names of those involved nor any further details regarding their identities have been released by law enforcement agencies.
