A tragic incident occurred in Winchester, Kentucky on Wednesday as a two-year-old boy was declared dead at the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital. The Fayette County Coroner's Office identified the child as Thomas Reed.
Reports state that Reed was a passenger in a vehicle that veered off the roadway near the 4700 block of Lexington Road before colliding with a plank fence. Emergency services rushed to the scene and transported him to UK Children's Hospital for treatment.
Despite their best efforts, medical professionals were unable to save young Reed, and he was pronounced dead at 4:48 p.m.
The Clark County Sheriff's Department has launched an investigation into this heartbreaking incident. No further details have been released at this time.
