Unidentified driver dies in two-vehicle crash in Portage

The SUV driver died at the hospital Monday morning.
An unidentified driver has died following a two-vehicle crash in Portage, Wisconsin. The accident occurred on Saturday afternoon at around 3:20 p.m. on East Albert Street.
According to the Portage Police Department, officers arrived at the scene to find a pick-up truck stopped in the street and an SUV in the ditch. The driver of the SUV was pinned against their seat and non-responsive. They were transported to a local hospital before being airlifted to a Madison hospital for further treatment.
Sadly, it was reported that the SUV driver passed away on Monday morning due to injuries sustained during the crash. Officials have not yet released their name as investigations into what caused the accident continue.
Authorities believe that speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors leading up to this tragic incident.
The pick-up truck had three occupants at the time of impact but none of them suffered any injuries from the collision.
