Utah Family Killed in Tragic Car Crash in Rexburg, Idaho

A devastating car crash on an Idaho highway claimed the lives of four members of a Utah family over the weekend. The incident occurred on Friday around 10 p.m. when a Tesla traveling east on Highway 33 veered across the center line and collided head-on with a semi-truck. The fatal collision took place near milepost 125, between Rexburg and Driggs.
According to reports from the Idaho State Police, all occupants of the Tesla were wearing seatbelts at the time of impact but tragically did not survive. The victims have been identified as Jennifer Blaine (46 years old), her 11-year-old daughter Denali Blaine, her 22-year-old daughter Emily Leavitt, and Emily's husband Zach Leavitt. Additionally, their beloved dog named Peaches also lost its life in the accident.
Jennifer Blaine hailed from Mantua while Emily and Zach Leavitt resided in Kaysville. They had recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary together before this tragic event unfolded.
The group was en route to meet up with Jennifer's husband Nathan and one of their sons who were already hiking in Tetons when disaster struck.
The Blaines have two other sons currently serving missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; fortunately, both returned home safely following news of this tragedy. One son was only two weeks away from completing his mission while another will resume his missionary work after taking a few weeks to grieve and recover.
This devastating accident has left the community in shock, mourning the loss of such beloved individuals. The Blaine family's tragic fate serves as a reminder of how fragile life can be and the importance of cherishing every moment with loved ones.
As investigations into the crash continue, authorities are working diligently to determine the cause behind this heartbreaking incident.
