According to officials, a vehicle accident on I-20 caused a significant backup of traffic in North Augusta, South Carolina. The accident occurred on Sunday at around 4:40 p.m. under the Exit 1 bridge on I-20 westbound and resulted in unknown injuries.
The North Augusta Public Safety department confirmed the incident and reported that it backed up traffic to Exit 6. However, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation map, the accident traffic had cleared by 5:35 p.m.
Authorities have stated that the South Carolina Highway Patrol is handling further investigation into the cause of this accident.
