Driver Hospitalized in Shinnston Vehicle Accident

One driver hospitalized with minor injuries
In a recent incident on Tuesday evening, one person was transported to the hospital after a vehicle accident occurred in Shinnston. The mishap took place on South Pike Street near the intersection of West Virginia Rt. 20, as reported by Harrison County 911.
According to Chief of Police, the accident unfolded when the driver of a white truck momentarily diverted their attention away from the road and towards a nearby McDonald's. Consequently, they unintentionally veered into oncoming traffic. In an attempt to avoid colliding with the white truck, another driver operating a blue truck swerved but unfortunately failed to evade it. As a result, both vehicles collided.
Chief Harbert confirmed that one of the drivers involved was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure due to experiencing some pain following the crash. Emergency response teams including personnel from Shinnston Police Department, Shinnston Fire Department, Lumberport Fire Department, and Harrison County EMS promptly responded to assist at the scene.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing as authorities work diligently to gather all relevant information regarding this unfortunate accident in Shinnston.
