Pedestrians injured in vehicle crash near SEPTA station in Philadelphia

According to Philadelphia police, a crash near a SEPTA station in the city's Tioga section resulted in two pedestrians being struck by a vehicle that landed on the sidewalk. The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. Sunday at Broad Street and Erie Avenue when the driver of a 2010 Ford went through a red traffic light while traveling westbound on Erie and collided with another car being driven by a 33-year-old male. Video footage obtained by Action News captured the crash, which also injured both drivers and four passengers in the other car, including two children aged five and six who suffered minor injuries.
The impact of the collision sent the 2010 Ford onto the sidewalk where it hit two pedestrians, leaving one man pinned under the vehicle for about ten minutes before he was rescued and taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition. Another pedestrian, aged 47 years old, sustained minor injuries.
As per reports from authorities investigating this incident: A traffic light was knocked down in the collision and both vehicles were towed from scene. The investigation is active and ongoing with Crash Investigation Division as they try to determine what led up to this accident that left several people injured.
