Webster Woman Killed in Car Accident in Pennsylvania

One fatality, several injuries
A tragic car accident in North East Township, Pennsylvania has claimed the life of a Webster woman who was a member of Rochester's Sisters of Mercy. The incident occurred on Sunday morning at the intersection of Gay Road and Lake Road.
According to authorities from Pennsylvania Law Enforcement, the driver of a Chevy Equinox failed to yield at the intersection and was struck by a Dodge Ram on its driver's side. The impact caused the Equinox to roll over before coming to rest on its wheels in a nearby grass area. Both vehicles sustained significant damage as a result.
The Equinox was occupied by four members of the Sisters of Mercy, three women from Webster and one from Nebraska. Tragically, 79-year-old Sister Arlene Semesky lost her life at the scene. Sister Joanne Deck, who was driving the vehicle, suffered major injuries and had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The remaining passengers in the Equinox were also hospitalized for potential injuries.
In addition to those inside the Equinox, two boys aged six and nine were traveling in the Ram at the time of the collision. Their condition is currently unknown.
Authorities have not released any further details regarding what may have caused this devastating crash. It remains under investigation by law enforcement agencies.
Sister Arlene Semesky had been part of Rochester's Sisters of Mercy for an impressive 59 years according to information provided by Diocese officials.
