Woman arrested after deadly crash in Fresno County

A woman has been arrested and subsequently released on bond following a fatal car crash in Fresno County. The incident occurred at around 3 a.m. on Wednesday just north of Sanger on Highway 180 west of Bethel Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol reported that two cars were traveling eastbound when a Dodge Charger, driven by 23-year-old Amber Marie Alva from Sanger, collided with a Honda Odyssey that was ahead of it. The Charger had been speeding before rear-ending the Odyssey.
As a result of the collision, the Honda skidded off the highway and hit a tree before bursting into flames. Unfortunately, the driver did not survive and their identity has yet to be disclosed by authorities.
Alva and three other passengers who were in her vehicle sustained injuries during the accident and were taken to hospital for treatment. Investigators have stated that they do not believe alcohol played any role in causing this tragedy.
This is an ongoing investigation as officers continue to gather more information about what led up to this deadly crash.
