Kathy Bunch Dies Two Weeks After Multi-Vehicle Crash in Durham

The driver of the Chevrolet HHR died, and others were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A woman has passed away almost two weeks after being involved in a multi-vehicle crash that also left a young girl seriously injured. The incident occurred on May 30th at around 8am on U.S. 70 between Lynn Road and Pleasant Drive in Durham.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was driving eastbound in her Chevrolet HHR when she crossed the median divider and collided with a westbound Chevrolet Silverado. The impact caused both vehicles to hit a Jeep Grand Cherokee and Honda Civic, which were also traveling westbound.
The driver of the Chevrolet HHR was immediately transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries while the passenger, identified as a young girl, sustained serious injuries but survived. Unfortunately, Durham police confirmed earlier this week that the driver had since died from her injuries.
Police have now identified the deceased as Kathy Bunch, aged 44 from Durham. Meanwhile, drivers of both the Chevrolet Silverado and Honda Civic were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
