Woman Ejected and Killed in Crash with Truck Tractor

The driver of the Freightliner was not injured.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has reported a tragic incident that occurred on Sunday evening resulting in the death of a woman. According to officials, the fatal crash took place on State Highway 155.
At approximately 9:05 p.m., Danica L. Maclin, a 36-year-old resident of Frankston, was driving her 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse southbound on State Highway 155. The accident happened about half a mile south of FM 2661 when Maclin lost control of her vehicle and crossed into the northbound lane.
In an unfortunate turn of events, a Freightliner Truck Tractor towing a 2013 Polar Semi-Trailer was traveling in the opposite direction within the northbound lane at that moment. As Maclin's vehicle veered into their path, it collided with the truck tractor.
The DPS confirmed that Maclin was not wearing her seatbelt during this time and as a result, she was ejected from her vehicle upon impact. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Justice of Peace Andy Dunklin pronounced her dead shortly after arriving.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported for the driver operating the Freightliner truck tractor involved in this devastating collision.
Authorities are currently investigating further details surrounding this incident to determine its cause accurately. It is unclear whether any other factors contributed to this fatal crash or if weather conditions played any role.
