Woman Hospitalized After Vehicle Accident in Mayfield

A woman was injured and taken to the hospital after her vehicle ended up in a ditch line in Mayfield, Kentucky. According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the incident at around 3:09 p.m. on July 23.
Upon arrival at 6705 State Route 131, deputies found a silver Nissan Altima resting on a concrete culvert in the ditch line. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Winnie Davis, a 56-year-old resident of Mayfield.
According to Davis, she had been traveling north on State Route 131 when she veered off the roadway and over-corrected. This caused her car to exit the road and cross two culverts before coming to rest in the ditch line.
Fortunately, Davis only sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident. She was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The exact nature of Davis' injuries has not been disclosed by authorities at this time. However, it is reassuring that they are not considered life-threatening.
