Woman injured in West Chester crash involving stolen vehicle

A woman in West Chester, Pennsylvania was injured after a stolen vehicle crashed into her car at a stop sign. The incident was one of two separate crashes involving stolen vehicles that occurred overnight between Monday and Tuesday, according to police in West Chester Borough.

Nicole Benedetti was driving her friend's Subaru Forester at West Gay and North Darlington Streets when the stolen vehicle slammed into her car. Surveillance footage shows Benedetti waiting at the stop sign before driving into the intersection. "...I spun around completely twice and was up on the curb. The kid hit like three other cars here too..."

Benedetti is seeking a medical evaluation but believes she was not seriously hurt. However, police say that nine people were injured in both crashes, which occurred not too far from each other. At East Gay Street and North Matlack Street, another stolen car crashed into a light pole.

Police have not yet charged anyone in connection with the incidents, as some of those involved in the stolen cars were badly hurt and are still in the hospital. It is unclear whether the two incidents are connected.

"I just assumed it was like, a drunk driver or something," Benedetti said. "I never would have guessed that it was two stolen cars, just insane. Like what were you even thinking? You just ruined the rest of your lives and you could have killed several people."
