Woman killed, driver arrested in DUI crash near Sanger

The California Highway Patrol has released the names of those involved in a fatal crash near Sanger. The accident occurred on Friday evening when 45-year-old Michelle Vega was driving westbound on Jensen Avenue with 35-year-old Ofelia Santana as her passenger.

The report states that Vega lost control of the vehicle after entering the center median and overcorrecting to the right. The car overturned on the right shoulder, resulting in moderate injuries for Vega and fatal injuries for Santana who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of impact.

Following an investigation into the incident, Vega has been arrested for felony DUI and booked into Fresno County jail where she is being held on $102,000 bail.
