Smith died, two children and Kellon II injured
A tragic accident in Fayetteville, North Carolina has claimed the life of a woman and left two children and another driver injured. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening at around 7:09 p.m. at the intersection of Cliffdale Road and Rim Road.
According to the Fayetteville Police Department (FPD), the crash took place when 39-year-old Janeen Smith was driving north on Rim Road and collided with Nathan Kellon II, who ran a red light. The impact of the collision resulted in severe injuries for both drivers as well as the two children who were passengers in Smith's car.
Smith was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving. The two children were also taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Their current condition is unknown at this time.
Nathan Kellon II remains hospitalized and is listed in serious condition, according to FPD officials. As of now, no charges have been filed against him related to this incident.
