Katie Lee Kelly killed in single-vehicle accident in Lexington County

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene while one passenger was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment and the other was not injured according to officials.
Lexington County Coroner's Office has identified the victim of a fatal single-vehicle accident that occurred on Sunday in the 2300 block of Pine Street. According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, Katie Lee Kelly, aged 26, was driving eastbound on Pine Street when her vehicle left the roadway and overturned. Unfortunately, she died at the scene from her injuries.
An adult passenger who was also in the car was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries while a child passenger declined medical attention and was released at the scene. The crash is still under investigation by both The South Carolina Highway Patrol and Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
The previous report stated that a Kia SUV carrying three people had overturned after leaving Pine Street near Thor Road around 6:17 p.m., hitting a culvert before striking a pole. One person died at the scene while another sustained injuries and received treatment in hospital; however, one other person remained uninjured.
