A fatal car accident occurred in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday morning at the intersection of Brick Church Pike and Trinity Lane. The victim was identified as a 48-year-old woman who was driving her 2011 Ford Fusion north on Brick Church Pike before she attempted to turn left onto Trinity Lane. According to a witness statement given to Metro Police, the woman entered the intersection slowly when her vehicle was struck by a southbound 2007 Toyota Tundra pickup truck driven by Montrell D. Phillips.

The victim was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where she later passed away due to injuries sustained during the crash. Meanwhile, Phillips showed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests conducted by police officers at the scene of the incident. As per reports from Metro Nashville Police Department, Phillips has been charged with DUI, no proof of insurance and driving on a revoked license.

Officials have stated that failure to yield right-of-way on part of the Ford Fusion driver caused this deadly collision between both vehicles. Neither driver involved in this accident had their seat belts fastened at that time.

Toxicology testing will be performed on both drivers for further investigation into this tragic event.
