Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Southwest Barbur Boulevard

A tragic accident occurred on Friday afternoon, resulting in the death of a woman in Portland, Oregon. The incident took place on Southwest Barbur Boulevard and led to the closure of the road in both directions. According to authorities from the Portland Police Department, officers were alerted to a crash on the 9500 block of SW Barbur, near the Barbur Transit Station, shortly before 2:30 p.m.
Upon arriving at the scene along with paramedics, officials discovered that two vehicles had collided. Tragically, a woman was found deceased at the site of the crash. At this time, her identity has not been released pending notification of her family members.
Emergency services also attended to another individual who sustained injuries as a result of the collision. This person was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further medical treatment. However, their current condition remains unknown.
To investigate this devastating incident thoroughly, Portland Police Bureau's Traffic Division Major Crash Team is present at the scene gathering evidence and conducting an investigation into what transpired leading up to this fatal crash.
As a consequence of this accident and ongoing investigation activities, Southwest Barbur Boulevard has been closed off between Southwest Capitol Highway and Southwest 30th Avenue until further notice.
