Woman and Man Hospitalized in Car Accident in Canandaigua

The driver of the Kia was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital via Mercy Flight for internal injuries. The driver of the Dodge was taken to Thompson Hospital for chest pain and was issued a ticket.
A car accident in the Town of Canandaigua on Wednesday morning resulted in two individuals being hospitalized, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred at the intersection of State Route 21 and Duel Road.
The collision took place when a Kia Sportage driver was waiting to make a left turn onto Duel Road and was rear-ended by a Dodge van. Upon arrival, first responders found the Kia driver unresponsive. However, after administering CPR, she regained consciousness and began breathing again.
Due to internal injuries sustained during the accident, the Kia driver was airlifted via Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital for further medical attention. Meanwhile, the Dodge driver complained of chest pain and was transported to Thompson Hospital. Additionally, they were issued a ticket related to their involvement in the crash.
Following standard procedure, authorities closed off State Route 21 between Smith Road and Wells Curtis Road while conducting an investigation into the incident. However, as of now, this section has been reopened for regular traffic flow.
