Woman Pinned Between Vehicles in Yarmouth Grocery Store Crash

The victim was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. She was expected to make a full recovery. No one else was hurt.
A woman was injured on Monday when she was hit by a car while loading groceries into her vehicle at the Hannaford in Yarmouth, Maine. The incident occurred around 3:10 p.m. at the store located on Route 1.
Fortunately, there happened to be a police officer and an ambulance present in the parking lot for another call at the same time. This allowed some of the personnel to quickly respond to the new emergency situation.
Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered that a woman had lost control of her 2017 GMC Terrain. She veered over a median, collided with a shopping cart corral, and ultimately crashed into three parked vehicles. One of these vehicles was pushed against the woman who was loading her groceries, leaving her trapped between them.
Firefighters were called to assist and utilized the Jaws of Life tool to separate the vehicles and free the injured woman from being pinned down.
The victim was immediately transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland for treatment. Police have stated that although she sustained non-life-threatening injuries, she is expected to make a full recovery.
Thankfully, no one else involved in this accident suffered any harm or injuries.
At this time, authorities have not disclosed whether any charges will be filed against the driver responsible for causing this collision.
