One Person Dead After Car Crashes into Home in Yonkers
According to police, a fatal car accident occurred on North Broadway in Yonkers on Sunday night. A 70-year-old woman was walking along the sidewalk when she was struck by a car driven by a 54-year-old woman from White Plains. The pedestrian died at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. As of Sunday night, the car involved in the incident remained at 693 North Broadway.
The accident also affected three women who were inside their home watching television when the car crashed into it. A family member reported that they suffered some injuries before being taken to hospital for treatment.
It is unclear what caused the driver to lose control and crash into both a pedestrian and a house. Police and investigators were still present at the scene as of Sunday night investigating this tragic event.
