Yorktown Man Arrested for Running Down Person with ATV

A man from Yorktown, NY has been arrested for allegedly running down a person with an ATV at the Hunterbrook Ballfield in late August. The accused, identified as 21-year-old Kyle Frankild, was taken into custody by the Yorktown Police Department on Thursday.
Frankild is facing several charges including leaving the scene of a serious injury auto accident, third-degree criminal mischief, and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. All these charges are considered felonies under New York law.
The incident took place around 2:45 p.m. on August 27 when officers were dispatched to the Hunterbrook Ballfield following reports of a man being struck by an ATV and rendered unconscious. According to authorities, their investigation revealed that Frankild had fled the scene after causing severe physical harm to another individual. Moreover, he also caused damage to the ballfield while operating the stolen ATV.
Further investigations conducted by Yorktown police determined that the ATV driven by Frankild had been reported stolen from Suffolk County earlier this year in 2021.
On Thursday, accompanied by his attorney, Frankild voluntarily turned himself in at the Yorktown Police Department where he was subsequently placed under arrest and processed on all charges filed against him.
Following his arrest, Frankild appeared before the Yorktown Justice Court for arraignment proceedings. He was released on his own recognizance pending further court appearances scheduled for October 26th.
