14-Year-Old Boy Struck by Vehicle in Arkansas City

The boy was taken to a local hospital and then to Wesley Medical Center where he is believed to be stable.

Arkansas City Police Department reported that a 14-year-old boy is recovering at a Wichita hospital after being hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle on Saturday night. The incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of Highland Drive and Radio Lane.

According to ACPD, the boy did not stop at a stop sign, and the driver was unable to avoid hitting him in time. The victim was taken first to a local hospital before being transferred to Wesley Medical Center where he is believed to be in stable condition.

Officers spoke with several witnesses and bystanders present during the accident. They are urging anyone who may have seen any part of this incident to contact them immediately at (620) 441-4547.
