Authorities Investigate Teen's Death in Workplace Accident at Missouri Landfill

A 16-year-old boy was killed in a workplace accident at a landfill near Kansas City last week, according to authorities. The incident occurred on Thursday at Lee's Summit Resource and Recovery Park, owned by a private company that employed the teen.

Lee's Summit police reported that William Hampton died after becoming pinned between a semi-truck and its trailer. Police responded to the report of an injured person around 10:00 am and found William pinned. He later died at a local hospital.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating the incident. It is not yet clear what caused the accident or if any safety violations were involved.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for William's family.

The page also described how William had formed special relationships with every child in his neighborhood, taking time to play with them and even giving rides on his mini bike.

This tragic event has left many mourning for William as they wait for answers from OSHA about what led to this fatal accident.
