21-Year-Old Marlan Schwartz Killed in Collision with Pickup Truck in Kosciusko County

The Kosciusko County Fatal Team has taken over the crash investigation.
A devastating accident occurred on Monday night in Kosciusko County, Indiana, resulting in the death of a 21-year-old Etna Green man. According to reports, the incident involved a collision between a pickup truck and a bicycle.
First responders were alerted to the crash at approximately 7:20 p.m., rushing to the intersection of County Road 600 North and County Road 200 West. The collision took place when a 2002 Toyota Tacoma driven by another young man, aged 21 from Leesburg, was traveling north on County Road 200 West. At that moment, it collided with a bicycle heading east on County Road 600 North.
The bicyclist has been identified as Marlan Schwartz from Etna Green. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities who arrived shortly after receiving notification of the accident.
In response to this heartbreaking incident, an investigation has been launched by the Kosciusko County Fatal Team. They will work diligently to determine all factors contributing to this fatal collision.
During their efforts at the scene of this tragic event, members of law enforcement received assistance from various organizations including Leesburg Fire Department, Lutheran EMS (Emergency Medical Services), Samaritan Air Ambulance service, Indiana Conservation's Office and finally Kosciusko County Coroner's Office.
