A tragic motor vehicle accident involving an off-duty Wilmington firefighter has resulted in the death of a 3-year-old boy. The incident occurred on Sunday morning on the 500 block of South Madison Street in Wilmington, Delaware.
Wilmington police swiftly responded to the scene just before 10 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered the critically injured child and immediately transported him to the hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
