Officials Confirm Death of 70-Year-Old Woman in Payne County Crash

A fatal crash occurred on Tuesday morning just south of Glencoe. The incident involved two vehicles and resulted in the death of a 70-year-old woman.

The victim has been identified as Shirley Austell, who was stopped at a stop sign on Yost Road when she rolled forward into the path of an oncoming Subaru Crosstrek traveling along Hwy 108. The collision caused significant damage to Austell's Saturn Ion.

Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly before 9:00 am, but unfortunately, they were unable to save Austell's life. She was pronounced dead at the scene by officials.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused Austell to roll forward into traffic. No further details have been released at this time.
