Authorities Confirm 78-Year-Old Man Dead After Collision with Road Grader in Northern Kansas


A 78-year-old man has died after his pickup truck crashed into a road grader in northern Kansas on Thursday, according to authorities. The accident occurred at around 9 a.m. at 5th and Bismark roads in Washington County, which is east-northeast of Concordia.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that Douglas Toll was heading east on 5th Road and failed to yield at the stop sign. His Chevy S-10 then collided with a southbound Caterpillar motor grader. Toll, of Clifton, died at the scene. The patrol's online crash log states he was not wearing a seat belt.

The 48-year-old man driving the grader was not hurt.

The incident is still under investigation.
