No major injuries were reported after a box truck and an MTA bus collided on Thursday morning. The incident occurred near the intersection of East 85th Street and Lexington Avenue before 9 a.m.
The crash took place at one of the busiest bus stops in Manhattan, which is served by three different bus lines. According to officials, the collision was caused by an illegally parked box truck that forced the bus driver to stop in a lane of traffic. This unexpected halt prompted another truck to attempt to maneuver around them.
As a result of the collision, both drivers sustained minor injuries. The bus operator was taken to the hospital for treatment while one passenger also received medical attention for minor injuries. The box truck driver was also treated for their injuries.
