Two fatalities, minor injuries

The Florida Highway Patrol has provided new information regarding a fatal crash that occurred on Friday evening, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The incident took place on State Road 710 in Martin County and led to the closure of the highway for several hours.

According to investigators, a 26-year-old man from Indiantown was driving a sedan northbound on SR 710 (Southwest Warfield Boulevard) at approximately 5:13 p.m., around five miles south of County Road 714 (Martin Highway). Simultaneously, a tractor-trailer operated by a 55-year-old man from West Palm Beach was traveling southbound on SR 710.

For reasons yet unknown, the driver of the sedan lost control of his vehicle and veered into the southbound travel lane directly in front of the semi. As a result, the front right side of the tractor-trailer collided with the passenger side of the car. Subsequently, the sedan continued westward before coming to rest in a tree line situated westwards from the roadway. It faced northeast upon final impact.

Tragically, both occupants inside the sedan succumbed to their injuries. The identities have not been disclosed but were revealed as a 26-year-old male driver and his male passenger aged 24; both hailed from Indiantown.
