Driver facing charges after critically injuring 14-year-old girl in Chelsea crash

The girl, who is from Everett, was rushed to Mass General Hospital in critical condition and is awaiting surgery. Borelli remains hospitalized in Chelsea police custody.
A driver is facing charges after a crash in Chelsea that critically injured a 14-year-old girl on Sunday. According to police, the incident occurred on Beacham Street when Ceserino Borelli, 44, of Watertown was driving his 2020 Mercedes Benz sedan at a high rate of speed. He drove through the Dunkin' parking lot and crashed into two nearby vehicles before going through the fence at Rise Cannabis where he hit the teenage girl.
The girl was rushed to Mass General Hospital in critical condition and is awaiting surgery for trauma to her head, lungs and heart with complications according to her father.
Borelli also sustained injuries from the accident and was taken to hospital before being placed under arrest by Chelsea police custody. He faces assault and battery with a dangerous weapon as well as other motor vehicle charges which could be increased depending on how severe are injuries suffered by the victim.
The father of the 14-year-old victim, Teddy Tede, performed CPR on his daughter after her injuries caused her to stop breathing.
Chelsea Police Department continues its investigation into this case while doctors stabilize the young victim whose next five to seven days are considered critical.
