Fatal Car vs. Semi-Truck Crash in Town of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin

A tragic car versus semi-truck collision in the Town of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin has resulted in one fatality. The incident occurred on Wednesday at approximately 3:37 p.m., according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities were alerted to the crash at the intersection of US Highway 8 and State Highway 46 north junction. Upon investigation, it was determined that an eastbound car made a left turn directly into the path of a westbound semi-truck.
The driver of the car sustained severe injuries as a result of the impact and was immediately airlifted to Regions Hospital located in Minn. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, they succumbed to their injuries and tragically lost their life. At this time, authorities have chosen not to release any information regarding the deceased individual's identity.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported for the driver operating the semi-truck involved in this devastating accident.
Both the Wisconsin State Patrol and Polk County Sheriff’s Office are actively investigating all aspects surrounding this collision. Their primary objective is to determine what factors contributed to this fatal incident.
