Goldsboro Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident

A tragic accident in Goldsboro, North Carolina claimed the life of a local man on Wednesday night. The incident occurred at the intersection of North Berkeley Boulevard and Caudill Avenue when the victim, identified as 64-year-old Willie Hugh Harvey, was attempting to cross the street.
According to Goldsboro police, they received a report about a traffic crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Harvey's lifeless body. Sadly, he was pronounced dead on-site.
Authorities revealed that Harvey had been crossing Berkeley Boulevard on foot when he was struck by a black 2011 Mercedes SUV driven by a 38-year-old man who was traveling southbound. As if this wasn't devastating enough, immediately after being hit by the SUV, Harvey was then struck again by a 2020 International 18-wheeler driven by another individual aged 35. Both vehicles were also heading southbound at the time of impact.
The investigation into this heart-wrenching incident is still ongoing. As of early Thursday morning, no decision has been made regarding any charges related to the accident.
This unfortunate event serves as yet another reminder for both pedestrians and drivers alike to exercise caution and remain vigilant while navigating roadways. It is crucial for everyone to prioritize safety in order to prevent such tragedies from occurring in our communities.
