Graniteville Teenager Tayron Kirkland Dies in Two-Vehicle Accident

16-year-old Tayron Kirkland, a basketball player at Midland Valley High School, died in a two-vehicle accident in Graniteville. The accident happened on Wednesday at about 4:06 p.m. Kirkland was driving a 2013 Honda Accord east on Jefferson Davis Highway and trying to change lanes when the Honda struck the rear of another eastbound vehicle. He wasn’t wearing a seat belt, according to the coroner.
