Graniteville Teenager Tayron Kirkland Dies in Two-Vehicle Accident

The driver, Tayron Kirkland, was pronounced dead Thursday morning from injuries suffered in the accident.
The Aiken County Coroner's Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Wednesday, claiming the life of a 16-year-old boy from Graniteville. Tayron Kirkland was driving his Honda Accord east on Jefferson Davis Highway when he collided with another vehicle while attempting to change lanes. The impact caused his car to overturn and Kirkland was thrown out of the vehicle as he wasn't wearing a seat belt.
Kirkland sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning. His mother, Teena Tenille, took to Facebook asking for prayers for her family during this difficult time.
"I'm going to miss Tayron very much," Perry said. "I just thank God for seeing fit for me to be part of Tayron’s journey."
The investigation into the accident is ongoing by both Burnettown Police Department and Aiken County Coroner's Office. Toxicology analysis reports are pending which may provide more information about what led up to this tragic incident.
