One dead, one injured
A tragic head-on collision in Steamboat Springs on Sunday has resulted in the death of a woman and left a man hospitalized. The incident occurred at approximately 12:14 p.m. on Highway 40 at milepost 126.
According to Colorado State Patrol Master Trooper Gary Cutler, two pickup trucks collided directly with each other. One of the vehicles had only one driver, while the other had both a driver and a passenger.
Tragically, the passenger, identified as a 34-year-old woman, lost her life at the scene of the accident. It remains unclear whether she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of impact.
The injured man was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment following the crash. Details regarding his condition have not been released by authorities.
