One dead and four injured in Jacksonville head-on collision

Four people were transported to local hospitals. The driver and sole occupant of the southbound car was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Two cars collided head-on on Imeson Road, resulting in the death of one driver and hospitalization of four people. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Wednesday night when two cars were traveling in opposite directions. For unknown reasons, both cars collided on the northbound lane. The driver of the southbound car, who was the only occupant, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the northbound car suffered life-threatening injuries, while the passengers in the same car suffered serious injuries. The Traffic Homicide team is investigating the cause of the crash. This incident marks the 58th traffic fatality in Duval County this year.
