Man airlifted to hospital after rollerblading accident with semi-truck in Holland Township

A man was airlifted to the hospital after colliding with a semi-truck while rollerblading in Holland Township on Saturday morning. The incident occurred at around 10:45 a.m. when officers from the Holland Department of Public Safety were dispatched to E. 8th Street and Fairbanks Avenue following reports that a person on rollerblades had been hit by a semi.
According to police, the victim is a 42-year-old man whose condition remains unknown as he was immediately airlifted to the hospital for treatment. Officers believe that he ran into the back of the trailer, but it's unclear what led up to this crash.
The department of public safety has appealed for help from members of the public in locating the light blue tractor towing double trailers involved in this accident since they think that its driver may not be aware that they hit someone.
Eastbound E. 8th Street remained closed at railroad tracks during investigations but has since reopened.The crash investigation is still ongoing, and more details will be provided as soon as possible.
