Schiano was charged with second-degree manslaughter, second-degree vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal vehicle accident. He was arraigned and bail was set at $500,000 bond or $250,000 cash.

A man from Clay, New York has been charged with second-degree manslaughter, second-degree vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal vehicle accident after allegedly killing a woman in a hit-and-run. According to authorities, Joshua Schiano was driving his vehicle on Oswego Road when he hit Madison Faltisco who was walking south on the shoulder around 10:40 p.m. Thursday night.

After hitting Faltisco, Schiano drove off and got into another crash about a mile away on the same road. A caller reported seeing an unconscious woman near the road at 5 a.m. Friday morning where Faltisco's body was discovered seven hours later.

Schiano was involved in another crash at Salvation Army thrift store five minutes after hitting Faltisco. The driver reportedly struck poles holding up the thrift store’s sign around 10:45 p.m., according to officials who received reports that he may have been drunk during both incidents.

Faltisco graduated from Syracuse Central Institute of Technology in 2018 and her death has left many mourning her loss.

Schiano appeared before court on Friday night where bail was set at $500,000 bond or $250,000 cash according to jail records.

The investigation is ongoing.
