Man Injured After Being Struck by Truck in San Diego

A man in San Diego was injured on Saturday after being struck by a truck in the Redwood Village neighborhood, according to authorities. The incident occurred when a 73-year-old man was driving his 2007 Nissan Titan truck westbound on University Avenue shortly before 4:30 p.m., as reported by the San Diego Police Department.
The driver made a left turn onto northbound College Avenue at around the same time that a 36-year-old man was standing in the northbound left lane of College Avenue, just north of the intersection. The truck collided with the pedestrian, causing him injuries. He was immediately transported to a local hospital where it was discovered that he had sustained a lacerated liver requiring immediate surgery. Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
