A multi-car crash has caused a major traffic jam on the westbound lanes of Interstate 44 near Mount Vernon, Missouri. The incident occurred earlier today and all westbound lanes have been closed at mile-marker 41 as emergency services work to clear the scene.
According to MoDOT (Missouri Department of Transportation), "traffic will be backed up for a couple of hours." It is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the accident or if there are any injuries.
